How to split a PDF in three steps
- Open your PDF at postalform.com/edit-pdf — drop the file onto the page. Large scans and multi-hundred-page files are fine.
- Click Split where each document ends — a split control sits between every pair of pages. Click it and a torn-paper divider marks the boundary, labeling each section Document 1, Document 2, and so on. Add as many splits as you need, and click the × on a divider to undo one.
- Download — the download button turns into "Download 2 PDFs" (or 3, or more), and each section saves as its own file.
Extract just the pages you need
Splitting isn't the only way to pull pages out. The same tool shows every page in a side rail where you can delete the pages you don't want, reorder them by moving pages up or down, and rotate sideways scans. To extract pages 4–7 from a 40-page file, delete the rest and download what's left — the original file on your device is never touched.
You can also do the reverse: merge several files into one PDF first, then split the combined file at cleaner boundaries.
Fix, sign, then split
Because the splitter lives inside PostalForm's free PDF editor, you can make each document correct before it goes its separate way: type new text, fix a printed name or date, draw a signature on the signature line, or stamp a logo. Split jobs are usually preparation for sending something official — the editor means you don't need a second tool for the finishing touches.
