Choose the right recipient
Bankruptcy mail can go to very different recipients:

Use one verified recipient per mailpiece. Do not send private trustee-requested documents to the public court docket unless the instructions require filing them.
New cases require extra caution
Starting a bankruptcy case can require a petition, schedules, statements, creditor list, certificate or counseling information, signatures, and a filing fee or approved fee application. The details vary by district and chapter.
Some courts allow certain unrepresented filers to submit papers by mail; others offer an electronic self-representation process or have district-specific procedures. A filing may not be effective until the clerk accepts it and assigns or updates the case.
If timing affects an automatic stay, foreclosure, eviction, repossession, or another urgent matter, get legal help and confirm the filing directly with the court. Do not rely on carrier delivery alone.
Physical items and restricted documents
